Matthew 24:3 KJV - And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what [shall be] the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
Matthew 24:7 KJV - For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
Just a few years ago, people would scoff at the notion that earthquakes are increasing in number. No more. In the last two years, there have been a large number of magnitude 7+ quakes around the world, in diverse places.
So what to do about it? One practical thing you can do is to be prepared. While we of course look to Jesus as the author and finisher of our faith, His Word gives us the parable of the 10 virgins which plainly teaches the value of preparedness.
Also, before you think the Rapture will spare you suffering through an earthquake, ask yourself: Don't you think there were believers in Haiti? Chile? Thailand? Remember, earthquares are the beginning of sorrows, not the end. The Rapture may be near, but we may not be spared tragedy.
Be prepared.
There is a wealth of information on the Internet about being prepared for earthquakes. Some very good material is available at www.ready.gov. They break things down into three easy steps:
